Anyone know anywhere with normal or snow shovels in stock in Edinburgh? All the Homebases and B&Qs around me are out ๐Ÿ™

Ta, Duane.

Try a builders merchant? Keyline or one of the others

Or try a horsey (tack) shop, they often have plastic shovels.

I bought the second-last shovel that the local agri store had on Monday after the cheap plastic snow shovel broke.

And I've 'customised' it appropriately!

Aye - just snapped our plastic one this morning.

The chunky metal one is in a box.

In the back garden.

Under several tons of snow......

What is the difference between a snow shovel and a rest of the year shovel?

Snow shovels are bigger - snow isn't really that heavy so you can shift massive volumes with little effort.

cheap snow shovels are a lot lighter than a metal shovel.
With metal shovels the snow tends to stick to it, making it even heavier.
This adds up to a lot more effort when shovelling for a couple of hours like I did yesterday.

As MussEd says: make your own.

I whipped one up last night and it appears to work fine. ๐Ÿ™‚

Murrays tools on Morrison St have what looks like a heavy duty snow shovel in the window - don't know if that is actually what it is or not though...
