Reasonably happy with bleeding my shimano brakes now,

Bought a kit online to get started. Consisted of a syringe at each end. Was perfectly adequate to do the job however you have to suck the oil out of the leaver syringe when finished which is a bit of a faff. Bought the official shimano funnel thing which seems a lot easier.

Also the syringe is a bit small I find not being too sparing with the oil leaves it less likely to drain the leaver end dry.

My baby daughter was in hospital last year, they had to feed her with a syringe, pretty horrible but one silver lining was I was allowed to keep the syringes which work great!

My kit came with a plastic bag you zip tied to the tube to catch oil from the calliper end.

Anyone got a more sophisticated (less messy) alternative for this ??

Jam jar? I use the funnel and a big syringe at caliper end.

You can use a syringe instead of a bag I think. If you draw the plunger back it’ll help draw oil and air from the calliper.
