Is ‘AI’ becoming the new ‘20s equivalent of ‘turbo’ in the 80s?

    Yep.
    And just as shit.

Literally anything that works using electronics is now being labelled as using AI technology

Heard an advert for some headphones that adapt the volume to your surroundings using AI. Hasn’t this technology been around for years?

” New ” technology isn’t just confined to electronics. The marketing whizzkids have promoted some Skechers slip on  shoes as ” Hands free ” ?

Phew, with any luck we can just stick our AI e-bikes on Zwift and finally get on with our lives without all this tedious ‘cycling’ getting in the way <laughing emoji>

I’d have thought Di2 linked to a Garmin with gradient, cadence, speed and so on is a software update from being fully automatic. Boring as hell but maybe for delivery guys out all the time in all weathers it would be good.

I’d have been more impressed if Shimano had an actual wireless gears system like SRAM.

SRAM have had a automatic rear hub gear for a while and Shimano xt has auto shifting on e bikes. Not sure what is new here?

AI is the latest buzzword, beloved of marketing types who have no  idea what it actually means.

Unfortunately, for them, AI also stands for Actual Idiocy

I have a 10 speed cassette that is apparently HD Ready.

If it’s anything like everything else AI, it will downshift to the smallest sprocket the moment I hit a hill, while writing me a sonnet on the benefits of avocados.
