Visited a remote beach on the north west side of Scotland. If you plan to visit the north west of Scotland I highly recommend a detour or camp overnight (take in take out ๐Ÿ™‚ ) Mind the midges!!

If you are going from Durness then there is a road of sorts. If going from Sandwood Bay don't even think about a bike, unless your idea of fun is lugging around 30 lbs of aluminium for mile after mile after mile.

Kenny I've been told not to bike it from Sandwood bay
I've also been reading about getting there from Durness & the ferry, which is looking the favourite option.
Decisions,decisions..

I was there about 10 years ago great place. Camped overnight. Disappointing amount of litter - esp Jeagermeister bottles (empty alas) - left by other campers. Was hoping for a beach fire but there was zero driftwood available. Wonderful seascape and sense of isolation.

One of my favourite places, try and get there once a year or so.

This is very true.

I guess any that appears get grabbed by the campers.

If I was going again, I would carry some fuel in.

Beautiful place well worth a visit.

if biking to Cape Wrath on ferry rd then take LOTS of puncture kit as it's potholed to B***ry, probably not enjoyable on a road bike .............
bothy is meant to be really good and is on a scenic bay

I did three nights there a few years ago, beautiful spot. I have hazy memories of a combination of waking up with snow on the tent yet also skinny dipping. Presumably I had a hip flask with me.

*smug mode*
in laws keep a cottage at Polin a few minutes down the road from the track.

It's truly the most remarkable place to empty the mind.

If you go to the beach at Polin, it's the wee house next to the rock at the start of the path. If you see someone in, wave hello.
