he was the most famous American to me when I was a child reading his comics. I read so much I must have used his comics phases at school.

Sad news, but not unexpected.

Hope the stories of the person trying to take his estate were false.

Gutted, read a lot of his comics as a wee lad. Fair old age though. Like bigdean - think  i heard there was something about his estate going on, hope it got sorted

RIP Stan, many of my childhood heroes were from him.

Cap, Iron Man, Spidey, the X Men, Nova, the Fantastic 4 and The Hulk.

Thankyou Stan.

No more cameos, god speed Stan Lee

Apparently they've filmed quite a few already given his age

Spiderman was a childhood hero of mine and I've got many, many  special memories of watching the 'new' Marvel films with my son.

Thanks for everything Stan. RIP.

I had to google who he was, I originally thought he was a Kung Fu specialist.

Good with crayons, inventive mind.

Rest well, you were a Marvel.

He had a torrid last few years with various unscrupulous people looking to exploit him - limited edition comics stamped with his own blood anyone? - but he was a true legend who created a universe of wonder.

Even if it did end up jamming up the cinemas every summer for the last decade...
