    …Rap

Grew up listening to public enemy, big daddy kane, eric B, tribe called quest, souls of mischief, Dre and snoop. fell out of love with it a few years a go. So any good hip hop out there?

Not new, but Jungle Brothers still rock, as do De La Soul. Oh, and 3rd Bass. Another vote for The Roots. The Pharcyde?

Glad someone put Scroobius Pip up. Not many rappers who’ve moved me to tears.

Wu-tang clan (incredibly influential) and the spin offs
    J Dilla
MF Doom and his numerous other projects (Dangerdoom etc)
    Madvillain
    Madlib
Black Milk (fairly current, very catchy)
    Elzhi
    Phat Kat
    Jurrasic 5
    Flying Lotus.

Check out Last.fm and listen to the tag radio stations of the above and hip-hop wonderment will spill out of your speakers. Then when you connect with others and listen to their libraries it multiplies from there!

    +1 for the Roots, J5, Wu-Tang, Pharcyde.
Also try Dilated Peoples, Afrika Bambaataa, Gravediggaz, some of the early Plan B stuff – “Who Needs Actions When You Got Words” and “Paint It Blacker”.
Roots Manuva gets a lot of love in the Flying Ox household, as does Ice Cube.

I’ve got most of the earlier stuf being talked about, J5, WuTang etc, was thinking more modern. that Edan stuff sounds good!

Del tha Funky Homosapien is always worth a listen. Deltron 3030 is a cracker, most of the Heiroglyphics stuff is great, and everyone’ll go “ooh, it’s that bloke from Gorillaz!”

Going a wee bit old-skool/different, try Everlast, Michael Franti/Spearhead, Urban Species, Dust Junkys…

Oh, and add CunninLynguists to that list as well, especially “Will Rap For Food”

just got Mos Defs blunted complilation, theres an Edan track on there, liking it a lot, and a common track, who I have heard of but never reallychecked out before, can feel me getting back into it!
