On the Santa Cruz site it states that the shock needs to be 6 clicks from fully closed rebound, is closed on slow or fast setting?

Fully closed suggests the rebound bypass port is fully shut, meaning the oil only flows through the rebound shim stack meaning it’s full slow.

I wouldn’t set rebound solely based on what the frame manufacturer suggests.

No but as a base setting for you to adjust a click or two either way it’s a good starting point, from shock to shock of the same spec the rebound may differ slightly too due to manufacturing inaccuracies.

I messed around at the start, nothing felt right, put in the middle ignored it for a month or so and now everything is fine 😉
