Where is good, shower, toilet & short distance to pub required
    Any recommendations?

Tom’s Field outside Swanage always comes recommended when folk are doing the Gravel Dash.

We have stayed in Herston Yards – it was nothing better than ok, but an easy walk into town.

    we’ve stayed here – https://www.woodyhyde.co.uk/ – just outside corfe.

Very pleasant. Only slight downside is getting to the pub, but you can walk over the common. Small section walking next to the road

Tom’s Field +1. It’s a short walk to a pub in the village and a bit of a longer (but worth it) trek to the Square & Compass.

Tom’s Field is nice, basic, but all you need for camping.
Can’t book though, so you takes yer chance. Always been able to find a pitch when I’ve been though.

Norden Farm, top field is scenic, showers OK, basic food on site in season or 5 min walk past the castle into Corfe, try the Greyhound. Straight out of the campsite on bridleway towards Kimmeridge/Swyre Head for the usual Purbecks loop, or train to Swanage.

Church farm in church knowle is lovely and when we went a couple of years ago it was a quiet alternative to the often full Tom’s field. Not quite as handy for the Square & compass mind…but there is a pub in the village.

We’ll have bikes so I guess the square & compass will be handy from anywhere on the way there & wobbly on the way back

You can do Square and Compass from Tom’s Field 90% off road. Very handy 😉

Really like woodyhyde. The guy who runs it is miserable, the toilets and showers are not up to much, but there is loads of space and it feels right. Must be on a leyline or something.

Square&compass and Scott arms walkable mostly on footpath
