defoe £7.99 in my local tesco, (dunfermline).
i couldnt see a price listed, so checked the scanner.
i had the older version of this, but the shoulder straps were too tight, however this latest one is much roomier.
well worth the money.

Not sure I'd want to be seen in public with brand Tesco on my back. 🙁 I've still got some standards.

The little man: Camelbak?
POSTED 26 MINUTES AGO # REPORT-POST

I was referring to the retailer, not the supplier - who is probably making nothing after being screwed over by the telco buyers 😉

I agree wholeheartedly. 😀

Cash, cheques and all major Debit/Credit cards accepted.

Probbly all made in the same factories in the Far East using cheap labour anyway. TBH Camelbak are taking the pee with their prices; far far more spensive than they need to be to make a decent profit, and it's good that there are alternatives cos there's better consumer choice. Camelbaks are what, forty fifty quid upwards, but other brands are far less. Can't see why a Camelbak is better than a Decathlon own brand one really. Same quality.

I've used one of these for a round 18 months and then switched to a Camelback MULE. The camelback is definitely better, both the rucksack itself and the bladder, BUT it's not enough to justify the massive price differential. There's nothing wrong with the quality of the Tesco rucksack, it's just v basic with none of the expanding pockets etc of the camelback. It's also slightly too small for a winter day ride (for me). However, it's the bladder that really provides the biggest difference. The filling hole on the Tesco bladder is narrower and much more fiddly to clean out, the fittings are much more fragile (just need more care handling - mine never let me down), but the biggest pain is the constant dripping of the mouthpiece. I have 5 of them altogether (for the kids and Mrs T). Once you've tried the Tesco rucksack, although the Camelback's better, you'll resent paying more than £25 for it and it really does highlight that the manufacturers are taking the p with the grossly inflated Camelback prices.
For £7.99 though....can you really go wrong?

Looks very similar to a Decathlon one from a few years back.....which was equally as cheap.

I just went and got myself one of these for £7.99

It's kind of cute! The bladder does look a bit dodgy though - more like a cheap bit of camping equipment. I've got a 2 litre Camelbak one lying around so might try and squeeze that in instead.

Just picked one of these up for £7.99, bargain really. Quality seems OK for the money, will try it out at the weekend.

I only switched to a Camelback from el-cheapo ones due to getting a pile of Tiso vouchers I didn't have any other use for. Yes the Camelback is better, but not to the tune of the £60-70 I paid for it compared to the circa £10 Aldi/Lidl one I'd been using for a few years.

Tried lots of cheap and cheerful hydration packs and they are always crap, uncomfortable, fall apart, bite valves are useless and leak. I know they cost loads more but Camelbacks just have the quality, last for ages and get the job down. They also just always seem to fit and you don't get they annoying bit digging in like competitors, I include big names like Deuter and Salomon.

However not to spoil the fun, that is a bloody good bargain

Don't bother - look on CRC or wherever and get one of the discounted Dakine or Camelbak models for about £25.

Had two Tesco/cheap hydration packs and they're utter rubbish compared to the decent ones. Filling cap split, bite valves leak, seams on pack split, sweatier and not as comfortable. Never again.

I've had the Tesco one for about two years, got it for £5.99!
I used it for about 18 months, then bought a CB Rogue that was on offer. I still use the Tesco one when I need to carry a bit more stuff though. Excellent value for money, and a decent reliable bladder. My only gripe would be the lack of colour choices! 😀
