Just a wee PSA to stay vigilant in the area. Local sponsored rider Leo Smith was at Farmer Johns last week and had his bike taken by 3 x lads armed with machetes in Cote Green Road and I’ve noticed on socials tonight it’s happened again, this time 6 men with machetes taken a YT from a rider in the Marple area.

Appalling really – just hope the police get a handle on this quick.

How’s that come out?

Machetes? That’s proper grim, hope nobody was hurt.

beagle – that’s truly appalling.
We ride past the ‘start ramp’ on our tandem at least twice a week, it’s very quiet around that area and I can see how these evil people could ‘sneak’ into the farm.
It’s made me nervous of riding out on my mtb bike solo now.

I’d heard of the first one, but did have a solo mtb ride starting in Marple on Friday. It was a ‘one off’ in my head. Second time, not so.

I really hope the police are treating this with the seriousness which it deserves, rather than generic bike theft. Especially with recent tragic events in fallowfield (admittedly further afield).
