Finally got this finished and built up for my 10 year old as just didn’t want another Islabike and had a load of bits lying around. Spec is as follows:

    13″ Rockhopper frame
Rock Shox Argyle solo air (100mm with 20m axle as I had the wheels and got these off a mate!)
    Bontrager Rhythm Pro Scandium wheels
    Schwalbe Racing Ralph tyres
    35mm stem off eBay
    580mm carbon bars
1 x 9 with Shimano Altus 9 speed mech and 12-36 cassette with Sram Gripshift
30T NW chainring on 152mm Suntour cranks
    Deore disk brakes
27.2mm seatpost with shim for a bit of flex
    Islabike grips
    DMR V6 pedals

The variety of different shades of red components distresses my OCD a little but it was built on a budget and she loves it! Need to play with the fork pressure a little as she only weighs about 25kgs.

By that I obviously meant the bike and not the state of the garden.

Are the red cable, pedals, chainring and headset meant to match the berries on the bush? I think you are one shade out.
Good work on the rest of it though but try harder next time.

    Nice one.

Get the stem spacers above the stem – I found that with small bikes/high bars, there was not enough weight on the front tyre for grip, and they fell off on corners…

I’ll have words with the gardner!

Thanks for that – will give it a try as she does seem very ‘hands high’ at present I have to say.

It did have one at first as I had a Reverb lying around, BUT, it was too high when fully extended and she couldn’t operate the thumb button. When she gets a bit taller I might try and find short drop cable operated one with a long lever.
