I've got some .mov files from a mac user and I can't get them to play properly on my PC. Media Player Classic will play the audio and not the video, VLC will play the video and not the audio, quicktime won't play them at all. Any other media players out there that might work? Any other options (they are huge and numerous so I really don't want to convert them to another format)?
According to MediaInfo: QuickTime (XDCAM EX 35), MPEG video (codec xdva), PCM/PCM audio (codec lpcm)
Quicktime should play them, that's what it's for. Are you using an old version?
What version of QT? try and get a copy of QT Player 7, I had issues from PC to MAC, needed a codec plug in from Avid - google.
VLC usually plays anything though
I was a bit loathed to install the very latest quicktime as it insists on installing itunes but I've done it now. The quicktime player will now play the audio, but still no video.
I usually use VLC as it does play (almost) everything. Apparently its a known issue with VLC that it won't play this specific audio format if it is in a .mov file
