My son who’s 22 & should know better than to still want childrens toys for Crimbo…wants one. But have you seen the price on Amazon?? I could buy a decent fishing rod for that money!
So, is there anywhere that does em cheap-er-er?

I haven’t looked but Santa brought our boys one last year and he told me the best place was Argos. Came with 4 games and the camera thing too.

My local Sainsbury’s is doing the 160GB version for £199.99, so you should check yours just in case. Otherwise use this website comparison.

    £199 from JS.
And I would hope a good fishing rod cost more than that!

Beware the PS3! It’s a seriously awesome machine and the games are brilliant! I’ve lost many hours on our ‘kids machine’…

Both Sony consoles come from the SCEE factory with an agreed retail price. Sony makes a small profit on the hardware and a big profit on games, so that’s why you see the bundles being so popular. Your not going to see a playstation 3 significantly cheaper anywere you may just find a bundle that suits what your son wants (i expect GT5). You can buy a pre-owned console with a one year warranty (not a manufactures warranty) for less from game and Gamestation (same company) but I wouldn’t bother, I would go for new. I used to work for the Game group and wouldn’t consider used unless pennies were really tight or your lad hasn’t been good this year.

But the real question is should I get one over an xbox?

anyone know why PS3’s are so much more than x-box’s?

Is there really over £100 worth more tech in there, or are microsoft making a loss on them?

Because PS3’s are a bluray player, you cant watch bbciplayer and lovefilm though it, surf he net, stream HD programmes, play GT5 and take photos of cars etc. Great toy, one of my fleet of cars.

There is not really a great difference in the prices if you compare the same specs.

for example the xbox is cheap but you only get 4GB of HD space. add a 120 gb HD and your looking at it being more expensive. trust me 4gb of space in an xbox goes seriously quick.
