Anyone out there on Oneup carbon bars? I just ordered a set and when they arrived the Carbon has several strange random marks on it that look like long wavey lines in the carbon. Other Carbon bars I have used like Renthal are usually smooth with nothing like this. Guessing this is normal for Oneups?
I have two both are like that, uneven from an aesthetic point of view but nothing I would think of as a fault. Hope I am not mistaken about that...
Thanks. Yes just spoke to the shop I purchased from and they confirmed they are all like that. Seems rather poor for such an expensive item especially as the likes of Renthal look immaculate when new. Luckily I didn’t purchase them for the aesthetic but to ease my ageing arthritic joints!
I have fwo sets, but I also have a set of Renthals here, with similar lines under rhe lacquer
My old carbon S-Works Enduro frame used to be like that, it's just an unpainted carbon layup
Congrats on your choice of bars though, perfect shape and feel for me.
Never looked that closely, just a cracking addition to the Stage Evo with just that little bit of flex .. .. but not too much 😊
Cheers razorrazoo, I have tried all sorts in recent years, Carbon and alloy. Liked the Renthal alloy and carbon but found Burgtec pretty harsh. If the Oneup marketing is to be believed their carbon bars are the most forgiving of all and if they survived Ritchie Rude then they should be up to staying in one piece for me!
everyone happy with performance of these bars, i need a higher rise on my bike, due to a short steerer transfer.
currently discounted on merlin
I bought a complete bike with alu 35mm clamp bars. It felt really harsh on my hands especially the smaller vibrations. After playing with the fork and front tyre pressure I switched to OneUp bars. Instant noticeable improvement. Less arm pump on longer tracks. Very comfy and great shape. I also got the 35mm rise and prefer the height. I'm a fan.
yeah alu bars always feel harsh to me, been using RF Next for years, but fancy the higher up bars.
the RF are £129 in those, only £59 in 20mm rise ;0(
