So am I right in thinking:

If I buy a bike off ebay with paypal I'm covered if the listing contains the words "Free protection Pay with PayPal and you're fully protected" next to the paypal logo. I'm talking here about the bike not showing up rather than a slight sratch to the frame not mentioned

Is there an upper limit to the amount I'm covered for. I've scanned the terms and conditions but can't see one. I thought there was a limit which was a bit restictive for bike buying

cheers John
PS I'm not actually interested in this one but does that look like more than 5 miles worth wear on the seat post adonising

i think its £500. in fact yeah, it says it in the yellow box on that listing under payments section "Choose PayPal for up to £500 buyer protection. See terms & conditions". it explains more

if you buy it with your credit card linked through paypal and not your bank account then you are also covered. but if you claim on your CC it acts as against you. like when you fill in a insurance form and it says have you had a claim in the last xx years. similarly your CC people will review that you've claimed and maybe issue with a higher interest or lower limit next time round.

Thanks

Sorry but I'm still confused. I can't see upto 500 pounds on the bike I listed or indeed a yellow box

Hang on a moment I've got it

https://www.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=xpt/Marketing_CommandDriven/securitycenter/buy/PurchaseProtection-outside

it says upto any amount

job done cheers

ah, if you have listed it, it may be an option that you have to activate your self otherwise it defaults to something else.
