I am trying to true a wheel for a friend and have a problem with the spoke nipples. A couple are rounded off and can’t be adjusted, need to replace. I have removed them but having trouble sourcing new. Tried my LBS and SJS cycles and it appears they are non-standard.

They are 17mm long with a hexagon head, no slot in the head. The rim is Mavic TXC 3.01 with screw in collars at each spoke.

Can anyone suggest a supplier, please?

Nowt special about the nipples, you just have to use the Mavic insert and use longer (16mm+ IIRC) nips of your choosing.

Sounds like they might be Alplina ABS 17mms or Pilliar HGs, although I don’t think theres a 17mm version of the pillar. If they have blue nylon inside the head they are Alpinas. Although as NJee says theres nothing specifically awesome about them vs other nipples.

They must be the Alpinas, have blue insert. Thanks, I’ll have a search for some.
