    Hey,

just put a 2.4 Nobby Nic on the front wheel with a Flow rim. The tyre goes on without too much trouble, but It seems to bulge at one area. You can see a line of rubber that’s not visible on the other side of the wheel.

Does anyone know the best technique for getting it to fit uniformly around the whole wheel? My first couple of thoughts where either blow it up so much it goes into position (possibly), then letting some air out before riding. Or maybe some lubricant around the bead to help it slide to the edge of the rim.

Will this techniques work or is there a better way?

    Cheers

    Rob

Letting the tyre down & putting a bit of soapy water around the bead will usually sort this out

^This, plus pumping up to high pressure should do the trick

pump it up till the bead pings onto the rim (although be careful as Stands Flow rims have a max PSI rating that is a lot lower than that of the tyre…)

More pressure usually sorts it. Within reason, blowing a tyre off the rim is exciting.

A combo of above. Let it down, a bit of soapy water around the rim and pump back up carefully until it seats. There’ll be a few bangs/pops as it goes on. Then let it down to your working pressure.

    are you using a tube?

I’ve had problems in the past fully mounting schwalbe tyres onto Stan’s rims when there is a tube in. the problem goes away if you are running tubeless

As mentioned above – higher pressure and/ or some lube will sort the problem
