New shoe suggestions
So, we've just spent the last 4 days cycling down the Danube, I'm on flat pedals and wearing my original Spesh 2FO's, they a bit past it but they're light, stiff and dry easily. I have big feet so my grippy shoes that I wear on the mountain bike just flex too much for my liking, especially doing 100km plus every day.
I'm looking for something new for touring purposes. I've resisted going to SPD as I like the simplicity of a flat pedal.
Can anyone recommend anything?

For road/touring stuff, there's no reason not to go SPD (MTB style, not roadie style) as you get all the pedalling stiffness you want for cycling 100km efficiently, and they're also perfectly fine for wandering around the cafe/pub/beer garden in when you stop en-route.
I’ve just switched to SPD after resisting and it’s a very good decision - foot discomfort eliminated.
Bought some cliplite Specialized 2FO on a half price deal which are excellent and then bought some Lake MX238s which are even better - carbon soles.

Fiveten “Impact Sam Hill” have all the grip, stiffness and water resistance you need.
Good for those who are wide of foot also.
