I doubt very much that everyone else would get the same feelings as I do watching this, but to me, this is perfect.

I think everyone should give The Jazz Butcher a listen, just in case they love it as much as I do.

The heads among you might recognise Pete Kember’s guitar stylings on the top track there.

and Blawan’s version. Wouldn’t have know about Girl Band if it wasn’t for this. I’m not even sure which came first, but I don’t care!

I’ve never listened to any of their other songs, but this is one of my favourite metal songs. It’s nearly perfection.

piedi di formaggio- yay, finally someone else who likes the Temperance Movement!
I’ve seen them 5 times, most recently at an acoustic gig in a tiny venue in Manchester last week.

    +1 for Dizraeli

Anything by these two is worth a listen. Properly brilliant lyricist.

This lot are deserving of your time too. What’s left of That Petrol Emotion.

You should listen to ManoWar. They are like a real life Spinal Tap and take themselves very seriously. They played the loudest gig ever and nobody else tried to beat them, so they broke the record themselves.
“Stripes on a tiger don’t wash away, ManoWars made of steel not clay” wise words, wise words 😆

My late entry. First heard this song on the radio while living in Germany. Went out, bought the album, and a few months later discovered they were doing a tour and got to see them live in Tuebingen. Fantastic live act, very powerful.

Nice one Welshfarmer. At first I thought you were joking, but it’s actually pretty catchy…..still listening. The guys accent is bizarre though.

Yeah, don’t bother Dave: even I, a lifelong metal fan, think Manowar are complete crap

Not any particular group but Welsh language music in general.

As somebody who doesn’t speak Welsh, I find it weird how invisible it is. Any Welsh group can generally expect to be completely ignored by the media unless they sing in English.
That’s true of any other language, tbf; Scottish and Irish Gaelic aren’t commonly heard outside of their native language regions.
I’m fond of all three, but you have to be familiar with what’s around to go digging deeper.
Tangled Parrot of Camarthen had a stall at Greenman this year with stacks of Welsh language recordings, the greater majority I’ve never heard of, but the same’ true of Scottish, Irish, Breton…
Cerys Matthews, Julie Fowlis, Capercaillie are about the only ones I have in their native languages, time and money to allow experimentation stop me from discovering more.

Chakaping. The Jazz Butcher Conspiracy was my mate at school’s favourite band, and sadly I never really got them, because that Racheland is mesmorising.

    Unless you are Neil?

Because of the way the youtube video title displayed, I thought the song was called “Destroy The Orcs With Lyrics”

Is it me, or does that sound like a novelty Iron Maiden? I don’t like Iron Maiden, so have only heard their chart songs. Might as well listen to Black Lace or Joe Dolce for novelty music. At least they don’t scream at you 😆

I’m not Neil, but he is clearly a man of good taste.

The JB used to joke on stage about Lloyd Cole’s relative success.
There was a view that the band’s comedy efforts and eclecticism might be undermining the commercial potential of their lovely pop songs – so some music fans and critics wrote them off as a novelty act.

I’m sure most of you know of Nils Frahm, if you don’t please do have a good listen – decent earphones / sound system to really get the best out of it.
