    it just don't make sense!!

just called up one provider, and have been told that i won't be covered if i am riding 'vertical' paths…

when i asked what constituted a vertical path, i was told that i would have to make decisions before i rode any path as to whether it was 'vertical' or not.
i was also asked whether i was riding a specialised bike or not.
    eh?!

now i know i could go to dogtag etc, but i refuse to pay £80 for a policy, when i could pay £25…

    how confusing…

Try insure and go… Reasonable, and dangerous sports are covered, but obviously speak to them to confirm what you get.

i've not heard great things about endsleigh…

insure and go said it would cost extra (on top of the £50 odd) to go mountain biking, and that didn't include riding on 'extreme' terrain – 'extreme' terrain included gravel tracks and dirt roads, according to the girl on the phone.
    🙄

called cheaptravelinsurance.co.uk, got straight through to a nice woman, without being put on hold, listening to all the regulatory stuff, or pressing keys to go to differnt departments, and got a reasonable (if not outstanding) quote and bought from them. all she said was not to race whilst away.

it was refreshing to speak to a sensible person, who knew what they were talking about, without having to wait ages on the phone to speak to some bored call center worker.
