Looking at a holiday to Austria next summer, all being well. Want somewhere with good MTBing and a lake to do in. Have been to Kitzbuhel but want impressed with the biking. Saalbach looks good for biking, but no lake.

Any suggestions?

To label the biking, I’m after “Enduro” trails (lift assisted or not).

Saalbach 20 mins one way……Kitzsteinhorn 10mins the other.

Zell’s a good shout. Beware of the 2m rule in Austria. This summer in the Zillertal there were so many no biking signs. Even on routes that looked like forest roads.

We have great lakes and great biking. Official local trails are limited but there are loads of good unofficial ones. Especially if you pop over the border to Slovenia and Italy where there are fewer/no restrictions.
