Mavic used to publish info. on their website relating to recommended tyre pressures for a given width of tyre for their rims (lower maximum pressures for wider tyres). I've just ordered a wider set of tyres (2.1") to go on my XM719 rims and popped back to the Mavic site to check the Max. tyre pressure for a 2.1" tyre and I can't seem to find it. Has it gone or am I looking in the wrong place?

You won't want to go anywhere near the max pressure anyway, surely?

ive put UltraGatorskin 26" roadie tyres on my 717s at 120psi and had no problems…..

Ah – if it is road tyres then I get the question (but 2.1?). Rim tape quality is much more of an issue than rim itself it that case.

I thought that larger width tyres put more pressure on the rims and had markedly lower max pressure ratings. I run mine reasonably high as they're semi-slicks and do a mix of on/off road (probably 50psi-ish).
