As title – is it that bad & worth booking fast track tickets?
    Thanks

Hardly any queuing when we went at a weekend earlier in the year. Certainly not enough to be worth buying the fast track tickets imo (we had prebought tickets the day before though, just not the fast track ones). They were very keen on insisting you went and viewed the 3d movie thing, anyone trying to duck out of it was herded back!

best time to go is in Winter, as on a bright sunny day, the air is clearer and you can see further. Plus there are far less tourists around.

As for just turning up; if the weather's shit, then the queues can be very short, but on a sunny day during the summer school holidays, you could queue for hours.

Another great time to go is just on dusk, when there's enough light to see some distance, but all the lights are on.

Lived here all me life, never been on the eye though! 😆

Seen London from a few tall buildings though.

Going this weekend – meeting my brother whos over from Oz with his boy, thought it might be a good thing to go & do but not convinced 140 bike/beer tokens is worth jumping the queues when it's only 45 to queue —- so long as queues aren't for hours!!

Queued max 20 minutes in April on a day with beautiful blue sky, was about 5 minutes to pick up prebooked tickets, then less than 15 in the queue to get on the Eye itself including bag searches etc.
