Massively general question of the day.
If you had 1 week for a holiday that was heavily focused around bikes where would you choose.
The bits n bobs
Hardtail 26ers - Instant death expected
2 non biking women also in attendance
Looking for sweet single track / rocky peaks style riding
Coming up from the midlands
Beer / Food / whisky is nice
Cost is a factor
Delight me with your personal experiences / advice for either option and bask in the glow of the warmth provided from offering assistance to such a useless git.
(1st person to say Scotland is massive wins a deep fried mech hanger from an Apollo lazer)
Lakes if you want to keep the non bikers happy!
EDIT
Lived in the North (West) Lakes for about 6 years
Are the ladies riding as well?
That would be a monumental 'No ****ing way' Matt ๐
Unfortunately
North lakes - you can get a day out or two in Scotland (Mabie, Dalbeattie, Kirroughtree,Ae) as well then.
Kewsick.
Keswick Or Coniston.
Its the non biking ladies that scupper Scotland IMO.
Ask the ladies if they fancy Cockermouth?
Keswick. Staying in Yurts down in Borrowdale. Everyone happy... Great riding out of the yurt site plus all the fun of Keswick fleece emporiums for the non riders.
http://www.insideoutcamping.co.uk/ and ask for SImon..
๐Keswick fleece emporiums
Sounds like I could sell that to those with a saddle allergy.
Good stuff chaps
I'll second North Lakes, some great stuff around Keswick for the bikers and other options for others. Easy enough access of South Lakes too (Garburn Pass, Grizedale Forest etc)

Yes the point where the Cocker meets the Derwent, really the mount of the Cocker. I don't really see whats so funny.
Indeed a much overlooked town as the tourists flock to Keswick.
But in Keswick they can get a close look at some handsome old pencils.
I here in Keswick you can also buy GoreTex underpants.
