Having a new patio and want to deal with this. It’s keeps on growing at the side of the existing one. Will cut it below patio level and want to make sure it doesn’t grow back. It’s about 2 inches across.

Drill a hole in it and inject glyphosphate mixed with dot4 brake fluid

as above, drill a hole and fill with roundup

if you do this leave so it can work its way into roots before you dig it up

What’s stopping you from just cutting the whole thing out?

I would have to lift a lot of patio and chase it next door.
That, or go out on my bike.
    Erm..bike wins!

Cut off the top and drill lots of holes. Then put bleach in the hole and put a plastic bag over the top so animals don’t kill themselves.

If you have access to neat glyphosate/roundup – paint a bit on the leaves, leave a week for the chem’ to be taken into the roots before cutting down to the level you want. Then drill, fill and plug the stem.

If you don’t have neat chem’, you can get plugs for banging into stumps.

This stuff works. Make sure you’ve got a fresh horizontal cut, drill some holes in the top of the cut, pour it into the holes & wrap with a plastic bag secured with something. Go out & ride your bike.
