Booked in at RiveriaBike in July. Jet2 seems the best deal to Nice but are they a reliable carrier with bikes?

Jet2 making me nervous with comments like:

Many items, including... bicycles... are inherently unsuitable for carriage by airlines operating fast turnarounds. However, Jet2.com is prepared to carry such items on a โ€˜Limited Releaseโ€™ basis, subject to space being available. Customers should ensure that they have comprehensive insurance in place for these items as the airline's liability is limited.

Is this standard airline blurb? Only ever had one issue with EasyJet all the times I've used them to Geneva.

They were fine with us from Leeds to Malaga. Didn't really weigh the bikes at Leeds or Malaga

We had no problems with them... Though the bikes did get put on the carousels rather than out via oversized luggage, which wasn't smart. I imagine that was edinburgh airport slingers rather than Jet2 themselves though

They do have a fairly low weight limit though which stopped me from packaging the bike up how I wanted to. Unless that's changed, I got an email back from them that suggested it was going to.
