  • Is a fat bike just another missing piece of my n+1 jigsaw or game changing?

I had a Rocky Mountain Blizzard, which was a nice bike, and felt like an average trail hardtail but with bigger tyres. I sold it to get another bike, then missed the fat bike so ended up with a second hand custom steel frame based on a Stooge. Worlds apart from the Rocky Mountain, it’s compact and rides really fast – like a grippy short travel full bouncer. It’s my bike of choice at the moment in my local trails, especially when riding with folk with suspension.

Not all fat bikes are made equal, and they ride very differently depending on what you go for.

If its anything like me , buy a fatty and you can remove the +1 , Trek Farley 9, used it for everything the last 20 months.
