Still not got the funds for a wahoo so looking for a solution to navigating gpx road rides in France. I’ve used bikegpx.com in UK and whilst it’s basic it does the job.

Does anyone know if that works in France or even better knows of an offline app?

Ridewithgps will also work, premium membership required. Create the routes and then download them and the mapping to the phone. Use the phone in flight mode to eke out battery life and grab a sneaky charge in the cafe or carry a battery power pack. Minimal tech skills required to use it (we use it at work to recover a bad experience for solo riders abroad on holiday).

i use komoot, which i find to be one of the easier apps to use.  20 something quid buys you most countries of the world. you then download as you need. can be used in aeroplane mode to lengthen battery life
