  • How old do you think of yourself as?

    51 today!

I guess I feel mid twenties…or maybe I don’t feel any particular age.

Probably fitter now than in my twenties as I was very beer and dope fuelled in those days!

Only started cycling in my forties, started triathlon at 45 and was at my best two years ago before a big house move.

Now most of the big DIY is done I can get back to training and try to hit a 20 minute 5k run again

In feel and sometimes act like mid twenties. I’m 44 next week and feel that – hard – just about mid-race every time.

I’m 37. That seems to be about right, but I’m a fit, active and mentally alert 37 with no kids. I don’t know what being 37 means to others.

Mentally and out look has not changed much from mid 20’s though I have the added responsibility of kids and mortgages so I am more dependable /sensible- wont be just giing to south america next week for 6 months on a whim.

The body is clearly aging and showing signs of wear and tear but, as i always say, aging is better than the alternative

My best mate from school died in a car crash aged 21. Every day is a blessing and he, and his parents, have missed out on so much

Always be grateful, even when stuck in a traffic jam.

Agree with pretty much everything Junky said there.
Plus got to add my favourite Springsteen lyric –

Some guys they just give up living
And start dying little by little, piece by piece
Some guys come home from work and wash up
And go racing in the street

I’m constantly amazed at the apparent acceptance of what I say as fact.

I know I’m an engineer, but $1,000,000’s riding on a calculation I did on a sheet of A4 scares the bejesus out of me!

I’ve just been in a meeting this morning and set the companies direction with regards to certain technologies for the next ~10 years.

I’ve only been in the job a couple of months.

(Late 40’s, still get confused by my birthdate being in the 60’s when most people i deal with/work with/socialise with are late 70’s early 80’s…….)

I’m 44 and feel it, I would love to say that I feel 20 and have the mental attitude to match but I would be lying, life has ground me down to the husk of a human being I am now.

I’m 44 but living somewhere musically and mentally in 1987. Mortgage and kids but I won’t be derailed. B0llocks to that! 😆

38 in body, 22ish in mind, something to think about I realized that if you were born in 2000 you can legally drive next year!

I’m 37. I got ID’d on Friday at a Jah Wobble gig, where I was on the guest list because he’s using our speakers cabs in his bass rig (which sounds ridiculously majestic) 😀 . I don’t feel quite as young as people often think I look but I certainly don’t feel almost 40! Judging by my behaviour at soft play with my daughter I’m still a child…

I’m 54 and feel 54, not dead yet aside from a few aches and pains I’m enjoying being older.

Hanchurch, I think you are going senile in your old age, you told us this a month ago… How were the bike pants you go for your birthday, from your mum, just after leaving uni?

I suspect I’m a lot younger than the majority at 21 but even I feel younger than that, maybe the age you feel never catches up with the age you are?

It depends just how much various parts happen to be aching at any given time, but generally? About nineteen-twenty.

I’m 44 (for another couple of weeks) and was recently out climbing trees (geocaching) with 2 work mates who are both 26. Another guy was there and asked was I their dad – it took a lot of self control to avoid punching him in the face!

I’ve always said that women mature with age, blokes get to about 12 and we just get older, we never mature

Currently 69 but I can’t exactly say how old I think I am (depends on the day). Looking around at some of my unfit contemporaries does give me hope.

I am 49 and how old feel is wholly dependent on how my kids are behaving on that specific day. It ranges from being 10yrs old to having one foot in the grave !

I’m 41 years young but my body often feels double that.. I always used to get told that I looked a good 10 years younger but no-one has said that for a while..

I’m about 15 in the head, only slightly more conscientious

43 but 17 in my head. I still don’t understand the world.
Apparently I have a responsible job and teenage children. Where did that come from?

When I was in my early twenties I felt like an old mid to late forties type. Now I have stepped over the edge of forty I feel late twenties. Technically I should have met myself along the way but I must have been looking in a different direction. Now, as my son gets older, I get younger. God knows what’s going on.

Work – +10 years and a few more grey hairs will add to gravitas (although prefer to look younger than I am)

Play – -15 years* and often think why am I still doing this or keep doing it because you won’t be able to in a few years time. Compromises – much less running these days, less extreme/dangerous stuff and keep skis and bikes mainly on the ground. Having said that, considering a day with the Jedi to get back into taking air safely.

    * did a demo day last year and was wondering why some blokes were faster and more ballsy than me. So pushed hard to keep,up on all the climbs. Then realised that they were 30 years younger!!!

I’m 40 on Monday and feel every year of it at the moment!!

In my head I’m still in my 20’s though, and my family generally looks younger than their age.

I’m 33, and felt 21 until recently when people stopped asking if i was a student.
Going bald isn’t helping my mindset at getting older 😡 😥

In my 20’s I was conscious of getting older.

In my early 30’s I hit middle age.

In my 40’s age became a number, nothing more.

I’m 50 this year and do not consider age to be a factor. I wear what I want, usually check shirts, t-shirts, jeans, shorts and skate shoes*. Started running last year, go to the gym 3 – 4 times a week. Don’t ride as much as I’d like but the nicer weather should address that.

Age is a label, nothing more.

Every month, when the wife cuts my hair, I’m surprised to see all these grey lumps of hair falling in my lap. Still think I have dark hair even though I’ve been grey for 10+ years (apparently)….

I’m just 28, in my head, I feel no different to when I was 18 or 20, still a liability when drunk……….

I’m lighter than I’ve been since I was about 16 though, so feel fitter than when I was a kid in school to be honest. My hairline is not that of a 16 year old mind.
