  • How difficult is it to fit a wall-mounted ADSL/phone line splitter?

We’re getting interference on our phone line and very slow broadband speed. Our current filter is a freebie plug-in. So, I was thinking fitting a wall-mounted filter should help improve things. Are they easy to fit or is it a BT job?

A wall filter is unlikely to make it better. Try another inline one first. Also try plugging straight into your master socket.

it’s only two wires, you ideally need a decent khrone IDC tool (about £12) but you can usually get away with the freebie plastic ones. If you have extensions then it gets more complicated – but if you’re having issues , ditching the extensions is one of the firat things you should try…
