So, 30 celsius yesterday and got a free bonus resistance training session with the sticky piston problem. Only way of getting home was removing the callipers at both ends and just fixing them to the frame…. I found the info on the M/C piston swap on here but I have some Hope M/C’s in the bits box which might get me riding again…

So Hope M/C + SRAM Guide callipers… go or no go?

if the ore of the master cylinder and stroke of it are similar then it should be fine

It’ll work, both use DOT fluid so no seal problems.

Issues potentially are a hose with suitable connections (faint possibility that bore/od may present problems when mating Hope fittings to existing Guide hose) and secondly as TJ suggests that until you try it you won’t know if the Hope levers move a wildly different amount of fluid.

Assuming no connection problems, be cautious until you find if you suddenly have hair trigger brakes or v-e-r-y slow application.
