I’ve seen mentioned in several threads now that the the 2.4” Ardent (29er flavour) is one of the largest volume tyres on the market.

My EXO cased one is only a smidge bigger than the 2.25” – I guess the smidge being 0.15” 😳 😆

Its certainly not the Goliath its made out to be.

Before I buy a Knard any other/bigger volume tyres to try?

Rubber Queen 2.4s are MAHOOOOOSIVE. Very good, too.

Not only are RQ 2.4’s absolutely massive, it’s also really predictable when it will lose grip. All the time basically 🙂

I’ve got the cheapo non chilli compound ones, so my own fault really. Can’t wait to go back to highrollers or minions or anything which is designed to grip offroad.

BCs are teh orsumz.

Flashy, is the BC compound like Maxxis Supertacky? (i.e. feels like your’e cycling through glue when going uphill or along the flat?)

If so, is it best to stick a BC on the front and regular on the rear?

Not really noticed that, but the BC ones sure do grip nicely for me. I would agree re the ‘predictable’ part though, in that it’s very easy to know exactly how far you can push them in almost any situation. Mine tend to get used on the trail centre skill compensator bike, so am running 2.4 front and 2.2 rear, both in BC phlavah.
