I certainly read all her books old and new…

In a way she shaped my teenage years…ah the joys of being born in the 70s !

    Sad news.

I got The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole ages 13 3/4 when I was, exactly, 13 3/4.

I’ve never read the ‘newer’ ones, I must get round to it.

68 is no age to go

Snap. And the current events described were still ,more or less, current. I found it hilarious at the time

I’ve never read the ‘newer’ ones, I must get round to it.

I tried a few, but I found them a bit depressing.

edit: Found myself riding into work this morning humming “I’m profoundly in love with Pandora”

This is sad news. Sue Townsend made my life better. Peaches Geldoff did not.

    Peaches Geldoff did not.

Was there really any need to type that?

RIP Sue Townsend. Adrian Mole was part of my life when I was 13 3/4 too.

Well that decides what book to read next. My abiding memory of Reading Adrian Mole as a nipper was the look on my parents faces when I asked what a wet dream is.

    Here’s to you, Sue Townsend.

Loved all her books, the adrian mole books as a teenager was interesting then when you hit your forties he was still there, sometimes having the same issues in life the rest of us have. Brilliant characters and a writing style that just flowed. You will be missed Sue Townsend.
