    Hi Guys,

I have found some rather excellent deals at Merlin at the moment, but which out of these 3 would you guys recommend for general XC use?

These are complete front and rear kits inc rotors

    Hayes stroker ryde V6 £90
    Magura julie £90
    Avid juicy 3 £90
    Avid juicy 5 £125
    Avid elixir 5 £121

    Cheers,

I got some of their juicy 3s without rotors for £30 each last week. Hose a bit short for a full bouncer rear at 1200mm but fit hardtail ok. cut down hose for front, quick bleed, job done.
difference between J3 and J5= split clamp, adjustable hose angle on caliper, so functionally the same. I'd go for the 3s
I have juicy 7s on another bike and the feel is the same, however the pad contact adjust on those is a bonus that I would consider paying more for.

out of those, i would buy Julies.

however if avid float your boat, there are a few 2nd hand sets on the classified atm (i should know)

Julies. You might never want any other brakes after using Maguras. I love 'em!
