Asking for trouble especially at this time of night but here goes……….

I inherited a cat when a relative passed away about a year and a half ago.

I took him to have anti-flea injections and everything was ok until a few months ago when he got a growth on his back. This was removed by the vet and was apparently caused by the anti-flea injection.

I have treated him with a spot-on anti-flea treatment but he has become infested and we now have fleas in the house.

I have seen ultrasonic flea repellers which are available as collars and devices that plug into the mains at home – see links below.

If these work they would be ideal as no harsh chemicals would be required.

Has anyone tried them and what were the results? – I am somewhat sceptical to be honest.

Other suggestions for getting rid of the fleas would also be welcome.

killing the cat and burying it in the garden?

Or alternatively you can try the carpet stuff you leave down for x amount of hours then hoover the little buggers up? Seem to remember it working a fair bit when our cat got fleas when I was younger?

Probably need some harsh chemicals unfortunately as fleas are pretty stubborn/

Wot ajf sed. Cover every square inch of carpet with flea powder, even if it means moving sofas etc round the room twice. Then super hoover it twice. restrict the cat to one room, them do the whole lot again a week later. Get medieval on they ass.

It’s not clear from your post, as to whether the “spot on” flea treatment worked at all on the cat. We’ve always found it to be very effective, but as mentioned when you treat the cat, you need to de-flea the house at the same time.
Flea eggs can live in your carpets for months (years?) before hatching and re-infesting.
Go to the vets (not a pet store, they DO NOT sell anything thats effective) and get some indorex spray to spray every part of your house (though it does seem to be available online)
