Just a quick one:

How do I start an email in French, if I don't know exactly who I'm sending it too?

This is to jog my memory as I dont think google translate is right in this case...

Je parle le franglais so don't try any cheeky ones!! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I read that as French equivalent of Death Star!

In which case I would suggest one of these with the capacity to destroy a planet.

If you don't know who it's going to you can put...

Monsieur/Madame

You could put...

Cher Monsieur/Madame

But they don't normally bother....and don't get on to me about the Mr being 1st. It just is.

Monsieur/Madame
Excessive formality in French e-mail is a no-no apparently.

Close the letter with Cordialement.
