I too my fox float shock apart today – just to give it a clean and inspect the seals (they were fine)

Thought the LBS would stock those little sachets of fluid that your supposed to pop in when your putting it back together – no one in Derby seems to stock it !!!

Is there anything else I can use that does the same thing ?

    thanks

    just for the air can?
Any 5 – 10wt suspension fluid will do

motorbike shops should have it but avoid anything that claims to have 'seal swell' or similar properties

Float fluid is a lot thicker than that. You'll probably be OK though.

olive oil mixed with Balsamic vinegar, with a dash of blue food colouring will do*

*anyone daft enough to try this does so at their own risk

Uplink yes just for the air can – it only acts as a lube

just get a bottle of float fluid. It's only a tenner and lasts forever. It is different to suspension oil (it is very very thick – 85wt I think – and it contains molybdenum)

Suspension oil won't do any harm though if it's all you can get hold of
