Have Monday off and was thinking of booking an uplift day at FoD. I know it will be somewhat 'damp'.
Question is how do the DH tracks hold up over there and what condition are they in at the moment? Should I look elsewhere?

They were great on Sunday for the DH event. However its been raining most of today. Wednesday night XC and DH session planned, so can update you again tomorrow.
Rode the uplift Tues of last week - which was within the week that rained solidly.
Other than surface puddles which after a few runs disappeared, it rode surprisingly well. Even Mr Rooty was do-able.
I used Conti Rubber Queens black chilli compound rather than anything more mud specific and was impressed with how well they gripped and coped.
It was a cracking day, MBUK were also there, but not on the uplift.
Don't let the weather put you off, the tracks are quite hard packed, just a top layer of filth to cut through.
Showers and bike wash on site, so easy to get clean for journey home.

The boar are mutating into water buffalo.
I wouldn't worry, it doesn't get too bad ever and there are less people around in the wet.

I take it the Verderers is OK even after all this rain?
I've never been to the FOD but am tempted to do a "I'm going stir-crazy and need to get the f*ck out of London for the day" road trip tomorrow. Was thinking heading to Cwmcarn via the FOD for a warm-up lap of the Verderers.
Its pretty well all weather although it was surfced with a rather clay like soil. Nice and hard in the dry but a touch sticky compared with the natural surface.
Its under trees as well so should be fine.
I was down there the other week after days of torrential rain and almost all of the tracks had held up well.

Though aside from a few unavoidable puddles we were flat out everywhere...absolutely soaked through but sooo much fun! High rollers performed well.
