Ridiculously low? Have you ever worked out properly the real cost per mile of cycling?

cutting the front line services is a cop out.
all these institutions seem hell bent on protecting the pay and benifits of thier employees/ union members rather than protecting public services.
I contract and work alongside council employees. to get around the pay freeze they all moved up a grade the previous year they upgraded the tool allowance to £8 per week ( all tools / professional qualifications are already provided free of charge)
they outsourced the up keep of 15% of council homes to another business entirely and not one council maintencance employee lost thier job
