Feeling the need for something frillier and grippier than My hans dampfs, the 26″ fat Alberts where awesome on my last bike so am looking at the all new 2016 Fat Alberts but can’t find any recent reviews. Any one riding the 2016 650b versions front and back and what do you make if them?

I had one once – looked exactly the same as a Nobby Nic
Surprised it was allowed to be called a different tyre

Was that the 2016 650b or larger or prior years 26″?
The previous ones where said to be marmite like, I hate marmite but loved the Alberts

FA was a tougher tyre than the NN.

I’ve not seen a 650b version – the HD is the logical heir.

How about a Magic Mary in a basque?

Heavy, not that grippy and dragging?
Try minion dhf instead for a much better tyre

I found the minions that came with my Capra 2 where vague, lacking grip, & skitchy. I replaced with HD’s which are an improvement but still not as good as the worn out FA’s on my 26″. I’m still running HD’s but they are only now just getting good as it’s a bit dryer but still no where near as good as my old worn out FA 26″ especially in the sloppy stuff.
I’ve had 26″ MM’s and enjoyed them but they are noticeably heavy and better for descending.
At some bike show late 2015 schwalbe announced an all new FA.

I’m really wanting to hear from anyone who has the new 2016 650b’s front and rear, if any good as an all rounder and how they compare to the old ones.
    Thanks for the suggestions though

A Magic Mary review if any one is interested,

Review | Schwalbe Magic Mary 2.35 | Ride Report

the only thing i would add to that is that they feel heavy which is probably why they didn’t score well on the rolling resistance
