I ordered a laptop charger (from a specialist shop)

Invoice and description specifies my exact laptop

Charger arrives but is wrong one

I contact seller. They ask for details of my laptop

They respond with. We don’t do a charger of that spec’. You’ll get one here… Send yours in for a refund

All a bit of a pain but hardly the end of the world. But what do I do?

I’m tempted to dispute via paypal so i don’t go outside the time limit. Then leave negative feedback

Or do I message again to see if they can do  any better like arranging collection. I know under the rules I pay for returns but I think if they are sticking to the rules it should be a dispute and negative feedback?

As ever I’m grateful for your help

If you raise a return through eBay as long as you select the right option that makes it the sellers fault then you’ll be able to print out a return label at their expense. Easy to do, then move on

I’d expect at the very least for them to pay for return postage.  It’s their fault, not yours – but expecting collection is probably a bit wishful.

If they do this then they have sorted the problem so probably no need for negative feedback.

Basically.. request to return item as wrong one sent.

Send back with printed out label.

    Mistakes happen.. Try again.

Thanks didn’t know about the return options. I’ll action tomorrow when the post office is open

But I wouldn’t call this a mistake. The described a charger as being for a HP Folio-1000ea. But then didn’t actually know what charger that required
