Got a week down there with some m8's in July, based nr Ivybridge.
I know there quite a lot of threads about it, but most don't include any sort of route, so anyone got any they want to share?

Are we going to have to travel to the west of Dartmoor to get the best out of it? (not a problem)

z1ppy - I grew up in Ivybridge and rode to the moors from my doorstep everyday from the age of 12 - so I know some belters on the south moors if you're not desperate for singletrack but like distance, fast long not-too technical descents and good views.
If you want singletrack locally just spend the day getting lost in the myriad of bridlepaths between Ivybridge and the coast, that way you can plan in trips to the beach en-route.
The advice here otherwise is bang on - West is hard to find good varied routes on, and east is amazing - but the east is full of tourists and the routes get busy with walkers.

cool sounds good, were a mixed group, at 37 I'm the youngest and the oldest is just under 70, so were all up for a laugh and just want to do some good varied riding & visit a pub or three.
Was starting to wondering if we'd picked a bad un, but doesn't sound that way.

I don't think you'll regret it, it's a lovely part of the world, and just out of the way enough to have the benefits of south devon without the detriment of mass tourism! Where abouts are you staying? I'll send you a couple of route ideas.
