Utter nonsense. Pretty much every scheme does not do this. They do one of various compromise workarounds that fit in with HMRC’s rules and recommendations. Those rules categorically do not include:

You’ve said the same as me in different words. Cyclescheme, Cycle Solutions, Halfords, Evans, all offer their own end of scheme arrangements. In your words, a compromise workaround. You do not need to declare anything to HMRC or by P11d in any of these schemes.

I didn’t say that Steveb77 would own his bike outright at the end. Officially he won’t – nor will anyone on a government approved C2W scheme unless they take the immediate ownership option. Unofficially though, the bike is his. None of these companies will chase customers for used bikes – why would they!

Free2Cycle is a more forward thinking alternative. Do 100 miles/Week and get a totally free £1750 bike (or top it up if you want, as much as you want)

And it actually means people will ride the bikes they get rather than get bored of them and get back in the car.

Need to get your company on board, but they have a sales team to do the “convincing”

Ours is in the process of signing up now, waaaaay better savings than the current (Old) bike to work type offerings.

Free2cycle – had not heard of it before. Looks a great concept!
