I’m riding the colne Valleymountain bike challenge this weekend and see the forecast is less than wonderful. Anyone done it previously? What should I expect in terms of mud bath mostly hard pack etc?

    Cheers

It won’t be a mud bath, most of the course doesn’t get very muddy overall and there’s a fair bit of tarmac in there too. There’s a bit up a field out of Marsden that’ll be horrible in the wet, but it’s horrible in the dry as well, I’ve never cleaned the whole thing. You don’t need mud tyres, and pump whatever you’ve got up nice and hard so they roll fast.

It’s a great challenge, I’m looking forward to it as usual. 😀

    Thank you.

What are these mud tyres of which you speak? I assume they’re the same tyres I run all year only muddier?

I will be running some tyres.

Expect gurt steep hills, grit and wind. It is a tough but fun ride, the steepest stuff is towards the end so brace yourself!
