    As the thread title really, could i use my rockshox sid uppers off the 26er forks and just buy some rockshox sid 29er lowers? would they be compatible, or is this a stupid question? 😀

    I asked something similar a while back.

    I think the CSU of the 29er specific fork has a different offset. That said as long as the uppers of yours are the same length as the uppers on a 29er fork it should just be a case of getting hold of the lowers.

    I found the cost to be prohibitive in light of the fact that 29er specific forks turned out to be not much more than a set of lowers, seals etc.

    I think you lose about 20mm of travel, as well as the different crown offset said above..apart from that I think you can,
