I’m not talking about the milf babysitters.
    Sexy teachers or saucy Aunts.

I’m on about the sugary delight we’d spaff our pocket money on for a quarter of.

Now sucking on something i’d not sucked on in over 25 years..
    Army and Navy sweets.

I used to have Fishermens friends too, even the school bullies left me alone then.

Oh and the tuck shop original WHAM bars…awesome

Jelly tots! Think you can still get them though. Haribo just don’t cut it against the old sweets 🙂

At Primary school, we used to get a paper poke of sherbet, on the way home, really showing my age now.

A finger of fudge is just enough to give the kids a treat.

I don’t think you hear that little ditty anymore. 😀

And cola bottles covered in something that made us close our eyes, it was that sour…presumably sugar and citric acid. Kola Kubes. Fruit Salad. Black Jacks.

Especially as my mate – who teaches circus skills to kids – is nicknamed fudge…

Back on topic (see what i did there!) how about Nutty Bars? a rod of toffee liberally studded with peanuts – would be an ace trail snack now!

carlosg, was that what you used the last time you felt like an eight year old? I thought they needed something a little more sophisticated to get them into the transit these days 🙂

WTF! most of the sweets you’re all posting up about are still available.

I’d love to get my hands on a Cabana or a splicer and some creamola foam to wash it down with

Might need some help on this one….Mumbo Gumbos…I think that’s what they were called.

Nobody remembers them that I’ve spoken to…they were orange with green fizzy bits and they were like Wham bars.

space dust/moon dust was created by my father in law !! along with a host of other things including instant granulated coffee,

may sound like BS but as i’ve seen the patent for instant granulated coffee on his wall and know he had a house on ‘the ridge’ in HK until the handover,

How can we possibly have reached post 28 without mentioning the marvel that is Curly Wurly???

I was a member of the curly wurly club.

    Anyone else had that luxury?

What year did pink shrimps taste and feel different and rubbisher?

In the late 80’s fine. Late 90’s hard and tastless.

Didn’t come in quarters, but does anyone remember the name of sweet that came in a pouch? Think it was supposed to be chewing tobacco. It was brown sticky strands of something and was lush.

I love curly wurly’s but they are a nightmare to eat, the chocolate always falls off and I end up in a right mess. Is there still a curly wurly club sharki? What did you have to do to get into that???!! Eat loads of them?

Are gummy bears still around too? I LOVE gummy bears

That was in the shop we were in with Sharki earlier. It was called “Old Virginia” in this shop. It was made of strands of candied coconut and we used to call it sweet tobacco. This super sweet shop also had clove rock.

I remember the Victory V factory was in my home town. I just wiki’d it and apparently they are still available via a different manufacturer but unfortunatly no longer contain chloroform or ether. 🙄

Modern Victory Vs are rubbish. They’re not as strong and they’re smaller. 🙁 The local independent chemist sells them. It also sells tooth-powder and plastic rain bonnets for old ladies to protect their shampoo and sets. They come with a free tartan trolley bag 🙂
