carlosg, was that what you used the last time you felt like an eight year old? I thought they needed something a little more sophisticated to get them into the transit these days 🙂
Victory Vs when they had ether and chloroform in them. Proper dangerous sweets they were, I used to buy a quarter of a lb on my way into school in the winter, opened up airways all down to your toes.
space dust/moon dust was created by my father in law !! along with a host of other things including instant granulated coffee,
may sound like BS but as i’ve seen the patent for instant granulated coffee on his wall and know he had a house on ‘the ridge’ in HK until the handover,
Didn’t come in quarters, but does anyone remember the name of sweet that came in a pouch? Think it was supposed to be chewing tobacco. It was brown sticky strands of something and was lush.
How can we possibly have reached post 28 without mentioning the marvel that is Curly Wurly???
I love curly wurly’s but they are a nightmare to eat, the chocolate always falls off and I end up in a right mess. Is there still a curly wurly club sharki? What did you have to do to get into that???!! Eat loads of them?
Are gummy bears still around too? I LOVE gummy bears

That was in the shop we were in with Sharki earlier. It was called “Old Virginia” in this shop. It was made of strands of candied coconut and we used to call it sweet tobacco. This super sweet shop also had clove rock.
Grapefruit Spangles are the ones I miss. The ones that were the colour of toddler snot….

I remember the Victory V factory was in my home town. I just wiki’d it and apparently they are still available via a different manufacturer but unfortunatly no longer contain chloroform or ether. 🙄
Modern Victory Vs are rubbish. They’re not as strong and they’re smaller. 🙁 The local independent chemist sells them. It also sells tooth-powder and plastic rain bonnets for old ladies to protect their shampoo and sets. They come with a free tartan trolley bag 🙂
