Following a wrist break a year ago, I am occasionally getting a bit of wrist pain.

I have read about the more natural hand position with more sweep and would like to give it a try.

The only 2 degree sweep bars I can find though start at about  £70 which is too much if it doesn't work, as I don't think the resale market is big enough for them.

Does anyone know of any cheaper options that offer 12 degree sweep?

I'm selling some Salsa Pro Moto 17 degree bars that's of any interest?

Sweepy bars definitely help with hand pain.  I've tried loads over the years after a car crash left me with hand pain while riding.

I've settled on wider Jones and Stooge bars now, so have been selling off all my others.

Thanks for the offer. Think that's more sweep than I am after though.

Thanks again though.

s/hand Syntace alloy?

I use 12deg Syntaces and like them a lot (Vector carbons though, so ££)

I don't think the Syntace alloys came in the 12 degree.  Might be wrong though.

Haven't seen any for sale.

On one Fleegle bars are 12° though not very wide.

What have you looked at? SQ Labs do a couple of MTB bars with that sweep. I don't think they're as much as £70.

It was the slabs bars that were 70.

Fleegles are great. There are two types and the wider ones are 710mm, I think. May only be available in 25.4 diameter so you might need a shim. Mine were super cheap.

On one OGs?

25 degree sweep, but I also have Fleegles, and the difference if not as much as you'd think, and they are very comfy. I run them on 2 bikes.

I've tried bars with angles all the way from 'normal' 9 degree, all the way to 45 degree like the Jones loop bars. For me 25 is the sweet spot. Of course YMMV.

This sort of proves there are no cheap 12 degree options.

I appreciate everyone trying to help with suggestions  but am not looking for anything over 12 degrees.

Seriously, I went through exactly the same process a couple of years ago. Wrist pain on long rides, etc.

Limited options at 12 degrees, but having finally tried bars at 12-15 degrees, and then the OGs, the 25 degree ones were so much better.

OO often knock them out at under £20 in their sales, wait for that (or find some 2nd hand) and try a pair, you might be surprised.

I have the SQlabs 12 degree bars. They are great but with postage from Germany and a weak pound I think they were closer to 85 which is a lot for alloy bars

Good to hear I'd not realised that the SQ Labs were as expensive as they are. I have been using a pair of 30x on my fat bike and have a pair of the ones with the forward kink on my normal bike, but too much snow to Rey them out just yet. I really find the extra sweep more comfortable. I'm also a little embarrassed that I have 2 pairs and don't know what they cost!

Just bumping this old thread to see if things have moved on at all.

I'm on the lookout for some 12-16 degree flattish bars for a trail bike and can only find SQ Lab 30X and Syntace Vector. Anything cheaper would be good as it's a bit of an experiment

I think it's Fleegle, Salsa or SQ labs.

I've just fitted the Salsa 17 deg bars which don't have much rise. Took them for their first proper ride on Saturday and was really pleased with them. They just seem to put my hands where they naturally want to be. I got them from Slam69 who were very helpful when asking questions.
