Hi
It looks like four of us are heading to the Berwyns next month for an overnighter. We'll be on foot rather than wheel as two of our party are not cyclists. I am wondering about parking at Pistyll Rhaeadr car park and heading up from there.
I found a YouTube video which suggested you can leave a vehicle overnight in the car park, as long as you've paid for two days parking.
Can anyone confirm that this is the case?
Cheers!
Don't know about overnight parking but oh, the horror of fighting your way along that road on a BH weekend.
Don't know about the carparking situation at the 'formal' carpark right at the head of the road, but there's an informal layby-area on the left about 300-400 yards before you get to the cafe, so you could use that. But more to the point, I'm sure the last time I went up onto the hills in that area at the end of March 2018, there were a number of small signs actively discouraging overnighters and camping, so be prepared for awkward questions or for the locals not to be completely welcoming to the idea. Might be better to start & end your trip from somewhere a little less visited?
