Doh.. So it is no long enough to shift to big-big.

I have a spare matching kmc removable link so I suppose I could use that and add an extra normal link but not sure if that’s wise.

The tips of the regular links once pressed out seem to deform slightly so not sure if they are designed not to be reusable.

I suppose the best thing to do would be buy a new chain and just try to remember not to use the biggest sprockets in the meantime .. Which is very unlikely as I usually drop to the middle front ring long before I’d use big-big.. But knowing me I’ll forget and use that combo for some weird reason and mangle my new rear mech and hangar.

    What would stw do?

I guess on the plus side I’ll get no chain slap now!

Use a couple of the leftover links and a quick link. I’ve run chains with two quick links loads of times, works fine. Got a chain like this on a bike right now for exactly the same reason. 🙂
