I’ve had a set of Bonty Line Elite wheels on my hardail for about a year. The bike only gets ridden occasionally so they’ve covered maybe 150 miles. There’s a bit of play developed in the rear wheel – not much but definitely noticable when moving the rim from side to side by hand.

The hub is a push-fit one, so was fairly easy to take apart. It seems like it is the non-drive-side bearing that’s got some lateral play in it. Just wondering if anyone else has had these wheels and had anything like this? Wear and tear is to be expected but I’d have hoped that it would have lasted more than 150 miles before bearings need replacing.

They may just need pressing back into place.
Has something similar, on my affinity comp rear wheel, on my road bike.
Knocked them back in, with an appropriately sized deep hex socket.

Not noticed anything come through our workshop, and we deal with a lot of Treks.

Thanks both – I’ll try replacing the bearing in case it was a dud.
